2016 Pink Shirt Day Ladies Luncheon Raises $60,000
Our annual Pink Shirt Day Ladies Luncheon presented by Coast Capital Savings took place on February 19, 2016, at the amazing Blue Water Café in downtown Vancouver. We are pleased to announce that thanks to our amazing guests, donors, sponsors and volunteers, we raised $60,000! These funds will go to support programs helping build children’s healthy self-esteem with a focus on anti-bullying and violence prevention. Here is a list of programs funded in 2015. We look forward to announcing our 2016 beneficiaries in the spring.
This year, the lovely Fiona Forbes and Karen Khunkhun played host to 170 kind-hearted women as they raised money for anti-bullying initiatives across British Columbia. The annual Ladies Luncheon presented by Coast Capital featured an enticing silent auction, delicious food, pink wine (of course!) and live auction with Great Canadian Gaming’s Chuck Keeling as auctioneer. Television star Kaitlyn Bristowe sat down for an intimate chat about how she has been impacted by cyberbullying and her strategy for counteracting negativity online.
The ladies eagerly took the opportunity to kick off the 2016 #PinkItForward challenge to give social media a positive makeover by posting messages of kindness and nominating their friends to do the same.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the many generous donors and volunteers who made this event such a huge success! We also couldn’t have done it without our amazing sponsors. Thank you to Coast Capital Savings, Face the World Foundation, Holt Renfrew, Dexter Realty, OpenRoad Auto Group, NorLand Limited, Silver Wheaton, Beedie Development Group, Blue Water Cafe, Bella Gift Baskets & Floral and Proshow AV Vancouver! It is amazing to see what we can achieve when we work together.
